Trends Around Campus

School is back in full swing and the trends on campus are becoming apparent. Here at UK, Greek life is popular, and so is their spirit wear. You wont be able to go to class with out seeing a girl like Kaitlyn Rexroat, supporting her sorority. Kaitlyn is still casual which is perfect for a day of running around. Girls everywhere are being spotted with sorority shirts, sweatshirts and totes. Meanwhile the Greek boys can always be seen sporting their fraternity hats and t-shirts. As the year goes on, more and more spirit wear will keep appearing around campus.

Everywhere you turn, you can see blue on campus. UK is a school full of spirit and its students wear their spirit wear with pride. Blue and white athletic gear will never go out of style. Frank Lake is shown here in his ready for class look, proudly wearing a UK t-shirt and drawstring bag, perfect for his books. Taylor Edge is ready for a day at class or out for lunch in her campus attire. Her shorts and simple shirt are perfect for the hot weather, and her accessories will always be in style. UK is full of diversity and individual styles. But you can guarantee to always see these casual, ready to go outfits.

I feel this is a great first post. Certainly while UK wear is popular on campus I feel based on this post that casual wear of all kinds are the trend. I think the pictures are great quality and show exactly what the author of the post was saying. I look forward to seeing more trends as the year goes on.

I completely agree with these posts! I fit right into them as well, I love wearing my letters and comfy clothes to class. UK is all about school spirit so anything to do with the school you can find anywhere!

These pictures are right on point! I have a button on my backpack with my letters on it and i wear a letter shirt at least once a week- and same goes with UK stuff, always see it around campus because we're proud of our blue :)

The trends that are mentioned in this post hit the nail on the head. I think casual wear would best capitalize on the biggest trend it sort of includes greek and UK wear - I would say that the style trend for UK students is that 'comfort is key'

I really like the pictures and think they are good demonstrations of what the post entails :)

I agree that these are all trends that are common around campus. It is usually easy to spot Greek and athletic apparel. Because the weather is so hot lately, shorts and light-weight clothing has been very popular.

I couldn't agree more with these two trends! I am not in a sorority but the majority of my friends are and they are constantly wearing their colors and greek letters in support of their house and their sisters! Being comfortable around campus is important so trend number two is so true! Frank and Taylor are in style while staying comfy and showing their spirit!

I love that UK has lots of spirit! Its not only the sororities, but also the clubs, sports teams and such, who constantly wear their supporting apparel, and I love it! I also agree with the comfortable look Frank and Taylor are supporting, it is quite the college trend with the hotter weather and rolling out of the dorm last second to dash to class. I also like it because I feel like people are actually here to learn like they should be, not trying to distract from the learning environment.

This couldn't be more true! Just walking back to my dorm after class i saw over 20 girls and boys wearing their greek letters! I love that spirit and how everyone gets to see something that people are involved in! In the second picture i love how you pointed out casual shorts and a fitted top because you see 30% of campus wearing this everyday!

This is a really good blog post. All I ever see on campus is people in school spirited clothes and greek letters. The popular trend of casual and comfortable clothes is something that I support all the time. The pictures are also a really good example of the trends around campus.

This post says it all. Greek is such a big deal and no matter where you are someone has something greek in that room. The casual look is also a big deal I know thats the only thing on my mind in the morning. Spirit wear is everywhere and that is one reason I love UK. The pictures are great examples of students on campus

Here at UK school spirit is really important and while walking back from class I see tons of people wearing UK blue. This blog post is so true about all the greek spirit wear and wearing casual clothes to class. All over campus you will see people wearing their greek letters and dressing comfortable.

This post couldn't of said it better as you walk from the Whitehall building to Ag north all you see is Greek life novelties and UK pride.

The majority of people I see around campus are either wearing Greek wear or comfortable clothes; this post accurately picks out the two most popular styles. The students on campus are full of UK pride and it shows in their styles. There are various other types of trends around campus; Some people dress athletic or dress to impress, in dresses or skirts.

I totally agree with this post. It's so easy to just throw on a UK t-shirt and some shorts to go to class, and everyone on campus has the same idea. Even if you don't dress that way all the time, we are definitely a spirited school when it comes to wearing our blue!

Walking through campus everyday, I notice so many different groups through types of clothing. The main groups that I see are sorority boys/girls, athletes, fashionable dress up people, and of course Kentucky clothing. This post and pictures are right on with the types of groups that our represented throughout our school.

This post completely captures the fashion at UK. Especially for freshmen on campus, new students are always excited to set trends with their sorority and fraternity letters. The post shows that UK has a casual atmosphere while showing school spirit as well. It will be interesting as the weather changes to see how the trends change as well.

I believe that this post is only a portion of what everyone wears and the picture could be full of a lot of different types of people instead of just a few. I do like that is shows the greek life and also the school spirit uk has. I love that the pictures describe trends now, pertaining to the weather. Its exciting to see what next month will look like around campus.

I love how they got pictures of the actual students and the use of the student's names, but I feel more detail should have been given to other trends besides UK and Greek gear. Everyone already knows about those. What about like popular shoes? Styles of shirts? Certain staple pieces that people are wearing? I would have found topics like that much more interesting personally.

I think this captures what UK students are all about, comfort and style at the same time! It is true that everywhere you turn on campus the spirit of the students can be found. I also love that students make it their own through the use of accessories like Katelyn's cute sandals or Taylor's flower headband!

They are really good pictures, and they do give good detail about UK and Greek wear but I agree that they maybe should have covered a broader spectrum of trends. Maybe they could have mentioned trends that they think will be coming up for fall. This post does show the very casual attire of UK which is definitely true!

This post could not be more accurate about the current casual trends of students at UK! The tone and overall feeling of the post was descriptive and right on target. I also really like how the pictures show exactly the trends you see walking around campus any day. Great job!!

I think this article did a great job of showing the trends around campus. I think generally overall the greek letters overwhelmingly take over. I think sometimes it is also easy to spot new freshman from reoccuring students by the way they dress. Freshmen tend to dress to impress, while reoccuring students go for a more relaxed look wearing tshirts and shorts or sweats.

I think comfort is the main objective when it comes to trends in everyday where at UK. The greek T-shirt are so easy to throw on in the morning as your packing your books for the day. They are also perfect for the hot whether. They did a really good job of capturing the greek style/ casual style that is prevalent here on campus and Imo glad they mentioned UK wear because everywhere you go you see everything from Kentucky T's to a full UK apparel sweatsuit complete with the UK backpack, and lanyards to carry your UK ID. This is truly UK.

I completely agree with this post!! I dont go one day on campus without seeing a handful of girls sporting their sorority letters. And casual wear is definetly the main trend on campus! No one wants to dress up on a daily basis to sit in class all day. The UK attire allows students to support their school while still being comfortable. I think this group picked the best two trends to evaluate because these trends are everywhere and will be here in years to come as well.

This article described UK students very well. I for one go to class in casual wear every day and that could include Greek apparel. They did a really nice job captivating the fact that people just want to go to class in a more laid back look.

I definitely agree with these trends. I love how you can just throw on a comfy UK tee and head to class while still looking trendy and full of school spirit. Both pictures look great too!

Your post is so true! Waking up every morning and being able to go to class in whatever casual attire I choose for the day is really refreshing. I love how accepted these wardrobes are on the University of Kentucky's campus, making it a fun and easy going way to attend class with all of my peers!

I think this post describes UK students trends perfectly. You can't walk from one class to the next without seeing someone wearing their greek letters or showing school spirit in the UK clothes. Throwing on a UK t-shirt and going to class is so easy and comfy.

I would agree that casual wear is a major trend on campus. It's important to be comfortable while sitting in class and having to walk to class in the heat would be difficult in uncomfortable clothes. I love the fact that I go to school where the athletics are appreciated and school spirit is something that can bee seen everywhere.

This is a very accurate post when describing the trends around campus. In regards to greek life at UK, it is apparent that males and females alike enjoy sporting their greek t-shirts all over campus. Also, the school spirit can be spotted everywhere you look whether it be football, basketball, soccer, track & field, and so forth. This blog post provides good insight into the clothing worn around campus at UK and it is interesting to see how these trends stand out.

I agree. Every time i leave my dorm to go to class, there will always be a girl wearing a greek shirt or carrying the letters on a bag. Also pretty much everyone dresses for comfort. All the walking and hot weather makes you want to wear whatever is the most comfortable. This post definitely describes UK students clothing trends.

I'm in a sorority and I love waking up in the mornings and throwing on a lettered t-shirt with a cute pair of shorts. It's simple and comfortable, yet stylish. I also wear a lot of UK gear, I have to support my CATS!

I think this is a great update for the casual style around campus. Haha i wish i would have gotten it a little earlier though! Coming here I had no idea how many people really dressed like that. I took a semester off and just worked so I'm used to dressing very professional every day. I feel like if someone was going to come here next year they would be prepared for UK style!

I think this post signifies you can be stylish and casual at the same time. The trend of wearing t-shirt shirts go together great at UK during fall due to the weather. It makes you feel comfortable even when its hot and you can mix it up by wearing a nice t-shirt and shorts whenever you feel like.

I love to walk around campus and see all the different fraternity and sorority attire. I can agree these are the most popular worn outfits right now. They are casual and are not just limited to t-shirts there are cute bags to throw your books in and hats to put over a bad hair day.

Great first post! I have to agree that these are very popular trends. I've also noticed that gladiator sandals and large tote bags have taken the place of flip flops and back packs. It's also great to see everyone showing their UK pride with Kentucky blue shirts!

I'm glad you highlighted the fact that a simple tee and shorts is perfect for sweaty walks to class. I think the weather is something that definitely affects everyone's daily fashion choices! Casual and spirit wear are great outfit choices for class, not only because of it's comfort, but because it allows you to save your new purchases for the weekends!

I love seeing everyone in either their soroity or casual wear because it's doesn't put a strain on me to go all out for class. I enjoy being able to walk around being comfortable in what I wear, only to see that everyone is just alike.
The greek wear is everywhere on campus! I love to see them just for the new designs or colors they've chose! Greek wear, along with casual wear, like she said, will never die! Great post!

When I first came to school I thought that I would dress up and try to look cute everyday, but when you perspire while walking to class it's just not worth it. So comfy t-shirts and shorts are absolutely a must. I know every thursday is letter day for the KD house so I always wear my letters. Then on Friday I always make sure to wear my blue to support UK ! I love my Cats!

This is very popular, but unfortunately I am not a person that fits into these categories. The pictures do showcase probably the most-seen outfits because as college students, most people do not enjoy dressing up for class. I like to dress up because I'd be wasting all of my clothes if I didn't, plus I like to stay fashion-forward, not just follow the current "trends."

Caroline Frederickson said...

I think that this is a very well done representation of what students like to wear to class on a daily basis. Maybe students just prefer to get more dressed up or fashion forward on the weekends when they have more time and energy to get ready and put together an outfit.

This post is so true! It truly reflects a typical UK student's attire. On a daily basis, I see numerous girls prouldy wearing their sorority attire. There is also a lot of spirit shown around campus, too, with students wearing UK gear from head to toe. I personally like to be comfortable for class and wear shorts and a knit shirt. Well done!

I love how at UK comfy casual is such a big trend. I couldn't imagine having to get all decked out for class every morning. The first picture is such a good representation of classic UK style. I can't even count how many people i see wearing there greek letters and white shorts on the way to class every morning. I on occasion add to this trend, its so easy to just throw on my letter t-shirt and shorts and be set for the day!

I feel as thought both of these blog post are really good for the starters. They really shine light on the new trends you would experience in college rather than high school because of the scenery change. There is also a great choice of pictures for each blog and Both topics are very relate-able as well.

UK is such a spirited school and it is certainly shown around campus. Not only are we representing UK, we are all proud to be a wildcat and not afraid to show it!
I love how Greek gears are also shown. I'm proud to be a part of my organization and love to wear my letters whether it is on a t-shirts, shorts, shoes, or bags.
The styles around campus definately shows spirit, pride and comfort!A perfect combination :)

You can definitely see the trends that this blog describes while walking around campus. Girls are loving to support their sorities by showing off their letters. They are wearing them on pretty much anything they can put them on. You can really see the school spirit of the campus as well by the plethera of UK apparel that is being worn. This shows how much the student body is willing to support their University!

UK will always be a place where people will show their school spirit. Its part of tradition, I know people that actually "bleed blue" for a living. Those people are all about their UK spirit, and this is only the beginning, wait until you walk around campus and see the different apparel that people wear to represent their preferences.

UK has a lot of school spirit going around campus. You always see a blue or white t shirt on someone. It is great how much diversity is on this campus rather it be someone in a UK t-shirt or a sorority or fraternity shirt. Everyone is different and has a unique style.
