Holiday Shopping Highlights

The holiday season is officially here!  Many shoppers were out enjoying Black Friday sales and some waited for Cyber Monday, however the majority of great sales will continue until Christmas in most stores.  Retailers realize that most of us wait until the last minute to do our Christmas shopping, so that makes finding your gifts for a good deal easier than any other time of year.  These continued sales will bring in customers and encourage them to make larger purchases than intended.  Who can pass up a great sale, whether it be for others, or a gift for yourself!

Stores such as Old Navy, Bath & Body Works, and Victoria Secret are all having great sales right now.  Old Navy had deals that last only a day to deals that last for weeks, such as BOGO sweaters and $5 holiday tank tops this past Saturday.  Bath and Body Works’ sales have been seasonal with Holiday scents buy 3, get 2 free, and Victoria Secrets are changing all the time for even better bargains.  These deals are great for those last minute shopping trips before Christmas, and most of these stores have gifts for everyone!

So many shoppers do wait until the last minute to do their Christmas shopping. Retailers have picked up on this trend as well. I tend to buy my clothes for Christmas, the days right after Christmas because I can get such great deals. Old Navy always has great prices in general, so when they have sells you are getting that much of a better deal!

This is one of the reasons I do not go out on Black Friday because stores come out with even better sales right before Christmas! Retailers now what there doing by boosting sales at the last minute. i try to shop for christmas presents year round so I won't have to go out last minute and buy a gift. Old Navy always has great sales going on and Bath & Body works loves the buy 3 get 2 free deals!

I am definitely one of those shoppers that waits until the last minute to buy gifts! I always avoid Black Friday because I know the sales will continue, and there's no point in making myself get up super early during break. I'll have to check out some of the sales mentioned!

I work at Kohl's in Hamburg, and there is a bath & body works right next store. It seems like every other person who comes into Kohl's is carrying a bath & body works bag, and not just a small bag, a gigantic bag! I always think "how much could they have possibly bought at bath & body works?" Im also loving the VS deals with the secret rewards cards and my birthday $10 off!

I always wait to the last minute, so these sales get me going a little bit earlier! When i was walking through the mall the other day i did notice that almost every store had some find of sale going on! I also love all the christmas decoration the mall has up! It put us all in the christmas spirit!

I totally agree that retailers have good sales all the way up to Christmas and for sometime after, because they're right about how we wait to the last minute to do our shopping, but that's probably because we're so busy! I like how this blog actually gave examples of deals going on such as Old Navy and Bath & Body Works. It shows they put in good research for this blog.

I personally always wait until the last minute to do my Christmas shopping. With finals and wrapping up school I don't make it to the malls until about a week before Christmas! I can't wait to get home and start shopping for my family and friends!

I save so much money shopping right before Christmas when all the sales are going on! I might actually wait until after Christmas when all the after season sales are going on. I cant wait to go shopping again when i get back from break! This blog definitely highlights the fact that christmas season shopping is very important!

I'm definately guilty of doing last minute shopping. Even though its last minute I always find the best deals and the greatest things!

I agree, I love seeing all the awesome deals as i walk around the mall! I know at my store (New York and Company) we also have small gifts for under $10 that really bring customers in. We also have small promotions every once and a while like BOGO sales.

I usually do last minute minute shopping, but this year I decided to get it all done by black friday, and I did! But the only problem with this is that all the sales are coming out and now I just shop for myself... Which is not what I intended on doing.

The best day to go shopping if you are planning on doing last minute shopping is Christmas Eve. I work at the mall and there is never any one out shopping the morning of Christmas Eve. Stores all over the mall usually change their theme or have already put up their store specials to prepare for the day after Christmas. This is when you find the best deals in my opinion.

Marissa Payne said...

O how I love Christmas time, it gives me a reason to go shopping! And with all of these sales it provides less money I would have to spend on gifts. SO that means I get you use that extra saved, on a Christmas gift for myself.

Rohan Johnson said...

I would be classified as a last minute shopper. It's so hard to remember everyone on your Christmas list and I sometimes have to go to the mall a couple days before Christmas. Next time I should just get all my shopping done on Black Friday to makes things easier.

Every year I say I won't wait until the last minute, but every year it never fails that at the last minute there is always someone I still need to shop for. I am also guilty of shopping for myself alot during the holidays because there are always so many deals that I just can't pass up!

When stores have great sales like Old Navy and Victorias Secret it makes the stress of holiday shopping worth while. I know that many people, myself included always have at least one last minute gift to buy and with great sales like these it's not hard to find a good gift at a great price. Christmas shopping is huge part of the retail industry not only is it bringing in new customers but they are also making tons of sales.

Although most of my shopping is done, I know people who havent even started. Holiday shopping can be very stressful so stores like Old Navy and Bath and Body Works are great places to shop because they have a variety of gifts and good return policies. If you cant find that special gift they also have gift cards. Retailers know many people wait til the last minute and keeping sales going all season, they know they will attract people to their stores and make a sale.

One of the reason i do not go shopping on black Friday is because there are just as good of sales after black Friday up until Christmas. and every year there is always one gift i need to get at the last minute so these sales are perfect! Christmas time is one of the biggest times for retailers they make a lot of money and by having these sales they just make more and bring more people in!

I actually prefer to Christmas shop after Christmas! I feel like I get way better deals. Yes, you don't get to open your presents Christmas morning, but I would much rather get a good deal on the same item I wanted! Stores like Victoria's Secret and Macy's always have great after-Christmas sales.

I am one of the many people who wait until the very last minute to do all of my Christmas shopping for family members. I plan to go this weekend and I am thrilled that this blog highlights these stores with great sales! My mom loves Bath and Body Works, so the buy 3 get 2 free sounds like the perfect gift for her!

Retailers are all about the last minute incentives. I get at least 10 emails every day from different stores trying to promote their newest markdowns. You can't beat the Christmas bargains!

With so many people waiting until the last minute for holiday shopping I think it is to the retailer's benefit to have sales. For me, when there is a sale I do buy more because you never know when the item will go on sale again.

The holiday's always have the best bargains so its good to take advantage.

I know that all the great shopping deals make holiday gift hunting less stressful for me, especially this year. Being in college, and getting home right before Christmas, Ill have a lot of gifts to buy at the last minute. All of these deals will help my budget and get the shopping done quickly.

Morgan Spencer said...

So true that so many shoppers wait to do there christmas shopping last minute. These retailers are so smart to be having such great sales this soon before the holidays. The big sales attract customers into their stores and the retailers reap a large profit. The holidays are the biggest shopping season of the year and it can sometimes get crazy!

i never wait until the last minute to do all of my holiday shopping. I get most of it done the few days after thanksgiving. During black friday specials. This year it seems like there are deals everyday, so if you happened to miss the one on the previous day.... no worries because there will be one coming up.

I think I am the only one I know who doesn't rush to the stores on black friday and I heard people can suffer from credit card fraud on cyber monday. Hearing rumors just scares me about possible situations. Plus, they also have very big sales at the end of the season. Holidays are soley made for giving so its really good weather bought on sale or not.

Raegan Kuchar said...

I love all the great sales you mentioned in your blog post and have either checked them out or plan on check them out as they arrive. I have already started my Christmas shopping but now plan to check out a couple more places especially after reading your post!

I love finding a great bargain on Christmas gifts. Over the past few years, I have become much more of an online shopper and I love getting free shipping or a percentage off an entire order. I can't believe there are only 3 weeks left until Christmas.

Erin.Creelman said...

I wish that I would have gone out on black friday to get all the holiday sales. However, since I've been shopping around different stores I have still seen some really good sales. There are also really good holiday sales after Christmas day.

Maggie Peddicord said...

I heard Victoria's Secret was giving away free goodie bags away to the first hundred customers on Black Friday- they are surely trying to distract the customers from falling into the last minute trap! However, I think if the stores limited their best sales only to Black Friday, that would eliminate the a large amount of last minute shopping, that way those who go out the Saturday before Christmas don't end up getting a better deal than those offered on Black Friday!

Julie Wallingford said...

I work at the mall and thankfully didn't have to work on Black Friday. We, at PacSun, however, have been giving out our BEST deals NOW in case anyone is interested. For every fifty dollars someone spends, we give a FREE $25 gift card to spend or to give as another gift! Great, huh?

Maggie Camp said...

I have not really started my christmas shopping yet, but I am looking forward to all of the sales this season! I have done some window shopping and I have noticed all the awesome sales! I cant wait to see what I can get for a bargain!

Last minute shopping is so hectic, but it seems to be a trend for everyone having to get that last gift in. I don't think I am going to be able to handle it this year working a crazy retail schedule, so gift cards are going to be the easy way for me!

This blog did a great job of looking at sales that are going on right now! I personally do not shop on Black Friday because I know there will be greater sales later on before and after Christmas. Just gives me a good excuse not to go shopping in the madness on Black Friday!

You all did a nice job with explaining the trends of retail sales. It is so true because everything stays on sale until even after Christmas. I do all of my Christmas shopping when I go home for the break so I wont buy anything until next weekend.

I'm definitely not a shopper on Black Friday so I'm glad sales last until Christmas because I also wait till the last minute. When I go to the mall I try and make a list of everyone I have to buy for and get it all done in one visit. Thankfully with Victoria Secret having great sales I can find my three sisters something by going there.

As soon as Thanksgiving is over, I'm immediately in the holiday spirit. I love some of the Christmas deals that go on. My favorite stores to go in for the Holidays are Macy's, Kirkland's, and just the mall in general. The way the mall I work in decorates is amazing, as soon as you walk in you instantly feel like you walked in to Christmas town. I think the sales are usually good closer to Christmas but the best sales are the day after Christmas.

I took advantage of some of the deals presented on black Friday and came away with some good purchases. Sometimes I would say it isn't worth it to go because of how crowded the stores are and how long the lines can be but I'm happy with my decision to take advantage of some lower prices this year.

This time of the year is always good to see the types of sales that stores have. I have never been the type of person to do anything last minute, so my holiday shopping will always be done early. You won't see me at a store like bath & body works though, I would be in stores like finish line and champs footwear. Some of my preferences.

I never wait to get my Christmas shopping done; I normally start Christmas shopping all over again January 1st. I usually shop at the mall and other boutiques for Christmas. I only shop occasionally online when i know it is something i can not get in the store.

I am definitely one of those people who wait until the last minute to do my christmas shopping. Victoria's secret does have great sales, especially during this time of the year. Cyper Monday was a really great idea. My mom took advantage of it and got some Lucky brand boot for 30 percent off when they almost never go onsale!

I'm not so much of a "wake up at 2 in the morning and go to the mall" kind of person when it comes to black friday and christmas shopping, so i definitely love the fact that tons of things are still on sale and maybe even at a better deal after black friday occurs. I know i'm totally a last minute shopper so the sales help me out a lot.

I love the fact that stores realize and adapt to how we really operate instead of how they want us to. I love that stores now offer sales right up to the last minute because being out of the country over Thanksgiving, to now studying for finals, and not having a car on campus christmas shopping has been very hard for me. I have gotten all my main gifts purchased through online stores, but I love that I have the opportunity to go home and grab a few more stocking stuffers at great prices :)

I have been to the mall more these two weeks than I have been in the past few months! It's so hard to pass up all the great deals every store you walk into is offering. Black Friday was such a fun experience and the sales they were having were awesome! I am so excited for the holidays!

I have not been out for christmas shopping yet, but I am dreading every minute of it. I hate getting out in the traffic and trying to find a parking spot then fight the crowds to get particular items for other people. The only thing that makes it a more pleasurable experience, sales. and thank goodness for them!

Everyone waits till the last minute to do their holiday shopping. I know I'm one of them but this year I got an earlier start. Retail stores do a good job with still giving customer’s sales on last minute gifts. They realize that the last minute shoppers are still willing to pay whatever price to get the gifts they want and need. I love the holidays and can’t wait till Christmas.

Christmas is about two weeks away and I haven't started shopping yet! I'm glad that there are still great sales running after black friday until christmas! Victoria's secret and bath and body works have some of the best holiday gifts for friends.

I work at Express at Fayette mall and had to work yesterday, and just in a span of a couple days there were completely different sales going on all throughout the store. My schedule has also doubled the weekend before christmas because people shop last minute for christmas gifts. I think the weekend before christmas will be even busier than black friday.

I was just at the mall earlier today and noticed that a lot of really good sales are still going on. Actually some are better than the Black Friday sales because there was this hat that I wanted on Black Friday but it was full price and today it was 70 percent off so I had to buy it!

I know that the Christmas shopping begins as early as thanksgiving weekend and some choose to start even earlier than that. However, there are definitely people that wait until their holiday spirit has kicked in during the weeks of December and some even up until the day before Christmas! I began my hunting for Christmas gifts a few weeks ago but have only managed to come up with ideas and have yet to make a purchase. I think that the bath and body works gifts are great as gifts for any female. Who doesn't enjoy new lotion or body splash? There are many great sales still going on and I have discovered that some of the best places to hunt for Christmas gifts can be as simple as TJ Maxx or Marshall's! These are two of my favorite places to shop because they have such a wide variety of options. In my opinion, you can't go wrong at TJ Maxx no matter who you're shopping for.
