Equestrian Style

Even if you are not up to date on the trends it is hard to miss the influence of the equestrian look in peoples everyday style this season. Just by flipping through a magazine this look is one that is plastered all over their pages. The riding boots, and jodhpurs are just a few of the looks we are seeing pop up in people’s everyday outfits. Obviously in Kentucky equine is already so big but you can find this look everywhere. Major stores such as Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue all are carrying “riding pants” and have a whole section of boots called equestrian boots. Looking at this picture the similarities of this look to that we see in Lexington everyday is remarkable. Everyone needs a good pair of boots for the Fall and Winter season and the knee high equestrian boots are stylish and a great way to keep you warm in the coming winter months.
Another huge part of this style is a blazer, which we have seen all around Lexington this season. There are tons of twists that the fashion world has put onto the classic equestrian look, but it is a style that is easy to spot anywhere. This style is one that looks great on anyone and is easy to put together. The best part is that all of the pieces that make up this look are very versatile. As you can see from this picture all of the pieces it takes to have this look can be worn with almost anything. A nice blazer is always great to wear with jeans and a tee shirt or dressed up with skirt and blouse. You can even go for the equestrian look even more by wearing a crisp button down which is an easy way to look put together and professional. As for the boots, you can wear them with just about anything. They look great with leggings and a cardigan or with a great dress, there is really no way to go wrong with this look. I’ve seen these boots at tons of tailgates and Keeneland especially when it’s been too cold to wear sandals or heels. I suggest everyone should go out and invest in at least one trend from this equestrian look. It’s a basic trend and none of these items will ever look outdated.

I love the idea of bringing the equestrian look into everyday style. I think it adds a cute twist to basic looks. All around campus you can see every girl wearing a good pair of riding boots. I myself have already ordered two for the fall season. I think they are a great basic everyday look. I also love the idea of mixing in a blazer with an everyday outfit. I think blazers are great for keeping you warm in the fall weather and are an easy item to add a clean line to jeans or even a skirt with tights. I love all the equestrian looks you see from campus to Keeneland.

I am a part of the UK Dressage and Eventing Team and I've noticed a lot of similar equestrian clothing both for riders and non riders. The riding pant tucked into a tall boot is the most common one I've seen. I also love the blazers that people wear with them. People also wear their riding boots with skinny jeans and a blazer with a white blouse under it, which are what true Dressage riders really wear. I love the style both on and off of a horse.

The equestrian look is completely new to me. I am from the North and my hometown doesn't have horses anywhere near it. I have been noticing the new trend emerging around Lexington. I work at Abercrombie and we actually just got a shipment of blazers in. At first we all laughed and thought no one was going to buy them but to our surprise they are a popular item. I recently bought my first pair of what could be considered equestrian looking boots. I still am slightly uncomfortable when I wear them because I am not used to wearing anything like that. I am nervous to go home and wear my new boots because I'm not sure the reaction I am going to get. Maybe I can get the trend to catch on in my hometown!

Horses are such an important part of Kentucky life. It is not surprising that people are being fashionable with this 'equestrian' look. The boots and blazers are such a cute and professional look that would be great for college students. This style is great for everyone even people who do not actually ride horses!

I love equestrian style! It is so sophisticated and chic! I bought my first pair of riding boots this year and I wear them all of the time. I like to wear mine with skinny jeans, and cute top and I accessorize with a scarf. I love my riding boots so much that I am asking for a black pair for Christmas. :)

Im not a very big fan of the equestrian look, its just not my style. I like wearing some types of boots, but I would not wear cowboy boots unless I was going to a country cocert. I don't look very good in blazers, so I do not own any. I think some girls look very cute in this equestrian look, and sometimes I wish I did also!

I love the equestrian look. It is very versatile and will go with many looks. I see a lot of girls wearing riding boots with leggings and a sweatshirt, or with jeans and a nice top. plus it makes dressing warm easier, which is a definite bonus!

I agree with the blog, I think that Lexington has started becoming more and more of a trendy city. College girls fashion has improved drastically I think in the past 5 years or so. I know when my oldest sisters who are 34 and 33 years old, when they went here they did not get nearly as dressed up for events as we do currently. The riding boots are a perfect way to dress up our styles, and also the jackets that people who ride horses wear. As the article says, it is a timeless trend, that will always be in style.

I think the equestrian trend is so fun. I really like the general look and I think the trends can be incorporated to look dressy or casual. At first, I thought it was just a local trend but I've been seeing equestrian boots everywhere. I think the eguestrian style looks a lot more sophisticated and can be generalized for all ages, which is something you can't say about a lot of trends.

Even though I'm from KY, I have no equestrian experience. However, I have noticed that many people are following those trends. I love that "riding boots" have become popular because they are comfortable and go with almost everything. I also really like that blazers are becoming a staple in womens' wardrobes. Not only do they go great with pants, but I really like wearing mine with skirts and dresses.

Boots are one of my favorite parts about the fall/winter style! I want a new pair of boots weekly it feels like! I am on the lookout for a blazer as well. Last year, I didn't think I could pull it off so I didn't buy one, but I love the look so I am just going to go for it!

I have been seeing the equestrian look all around Lexington. I think it is a great look for many people especially the knee high boots. I don't currently own a pair of these boots but I absolutely love them and hope to get some soon. The boots do look great without just about anything and I love to wear boots in the fall/winter months. I think this particular style will become even more popular in the next couple of years as more and more people catch on to the stylish trend!

I totally agree with this blog. Equestrian style is everywhere this year. It's especially something that is very big around Lexington since this is such a big horse area. I think that this style is very accessible and you can do a lot with it. I especially love the blazers because I think that is such a sleek classy look.

This look has become one of my favorites! Usually blazers can be expensive but even stores like forever 21 are carrying tons of them in a lot of different colors. The blazer is a great business look that will never go out of style. When it comes to shoes and especially boots I want them all! The riding boots are by far my favorite. Being in the College of Ag. I see girls wearing their official equestrian gear and I always think it is so cute. Now everyone get obtain that look!

I ride for the UK Equestrian Team and I love the trends of riding apparel. Whether it is a neutral pair of breeches, or tall knee high boots, the looks are classic and fashionable. The trend incorporates the picturesque equestrian atmosphere of Kentucky, with the necessities of everyday life. The trends range from all different price ranges as well. Whether you are wearing the latest Ralph Lauren stirrup boots or a pair found at Target, the trend is fashionable for all budgets. I love this trending look and I think it will continue to be a classic, timeless fashion for decades.
