UK students: Looking great even when it’s Basketball time!!

It’s basketball time in the BLUEGRASS!!! Now this is a sport that we can all be excited about. Not only will be winning the games, but the style’s for the basketball games is what we all really care about. Let’s just be honest, everyone enjoys a reason to get all dressed up and look cute. But we think that we will all see the trends not being as fancy as football tailgating season! Now, we all know we can still look cute and trendy even if we are just wearing a t-shirt and some jeans. We think from what we’ve seen so far, if you are in the ERUPTION ZONE or student section everyone will be more likely to be more comfortable in what they wear. All that jumping up and down and singing all the chants to cheer on the team can be a little difficult in a tight dress and boots, or for the guys, to wear a button down polo and a sports jacket.
We think we will see more girls/guys still dressing up and looking trendy. But that will be more in the actual seats, not so much the eruption zone or the student section. Just because this past football season everyone was so dressed up and looked nice for the football games. As the season progresses we think everyone will be more casual when they go to the games. Because we all know the colder it gets the more everyone wants to still be trendy while bundled up in warm clothes!!

Not only am I excited to be attending my first UK basketball but also to dress down a bit for games! I just got my tickets for the first 3 games and while I won't need to be wearing a dress I still need to find something cute and Kentucky blue. while I'm sitting in a seat I can dress up a little more. But they're right about the eruption zone, I would hate to be all decked out just to be jumping around the entire time. But it's safe to say I'm sure everyone is looking forward to going to basketball games and showing off their best Wildcat spirit through some trendy looks!

I am so excited for basketball season! Being from Kentucky, I've grown up around UK fans and I am looking forward to actually being a part of the UK family when it comes to cheering on the Wildcats. I agree that people will probably dress more comfortable for the basketball games then they did for the football games. Even though I love dressing up, I would much rather be more comfortable then cute when I'm in a crowded hot room filled with screaming fans. I think that jeans and a T shirt will be the perfect fashion statement for the basketball games.

Basketball is my favorite sport and UK games are the best by far. I agree with the blog that not only do you get the thrill and excitement of the game, but you also have great people watching. I know that I like to be comfortable & cute when going to the games. You can accomplish this by finding cute UK attire with Uggs, TOMS, or Sperrys. I agree that during football season you find more folks dressing up because its warmer outsider versus basketball season when fall/winter is here.

I think this post did a good job showing the big difference between basketball season and football season as far as how people are dressing. Football is more of social hour and with the nice weather it makes dressing up easier and fun to do. Basketball season however is the time to pull out all of your UK gear and show your support for the team. I agree that fans are way more energetic at the basketball games and that is probably another reason why comfort wins over fashion during basketball season here.

I will agree that during football season it is a whole lot more dressier. But when it comes to basketball season this is when we care more about the game then the fancy clothes. We are going to these games in our jersey, tees and jeans. To dress it up a little we depend more on the assesories than the heels and dresses. Also at basketball games we are not tailgating and wAlking around hours before the game we are there to see our cats win. I thought the pictures did a good job in showing how we dress.

Since Lexington is becoming more of a fashion city I think more people will get dressed up to show off their style at basketball games or any other event they attend. I see several students dressed up at our games, the men's games and even the volleyball games.

I have noticed that the basketball games are not as dressy as the football games. I am completely fine with that because like it was stated in the article, it is colder now. I still always try to look cute and trendy though! I went to about 3 games last year and each time I would wear a nice t-shirt, jeans and a pair of boots. This was pretty much the same as everyone else. Even though people dressed more casually, everyone still managed to look super cute! I can't wait to go cheer on our cats again this year!

The most important thing you can do when going to a UK basketball game is wear blue, blue, and more blue! At basketball games, everyone likes to dress in blue and white to cheer on the team. Like the article said, the style for basketball games is typically more casual than for football games. When you're jumping up and down and screaming for the Wildcats, it's important to be comfortable. Whenever it gets cold, as it often does during basketball season, a cute blue and white scarf can dress up your outfit, and still show off the school colors.

Due to the fashion statements made at football tailgating, I think we will start to see more fashion trends appearing at basketball games as well. Although the weather is not as permitting, ladies will be accessorizing more with boots, scarves, and hats. With pea coats in various colors, fabrics, and patterns, I think we will also see such trends more often. The UK blue is now available in all styles of clothing, from boots and scarves, to hats and coats. This year we should see a variety of blue clothing worn to the games to show support and stay in style.

I'm so excited for basketball season here at UK! I love the excitement of the Big Blue Nation and being apart of a school with the most amazing basketball talent. I also love that we don't have to dress up as much. The football season trend of dressing up for talegate is really fun, but it's going to be nice to wear jeans and a tee to the games. I think this is the time for everyone to let their UK spirit shine through because our Wildcat basketball is unstoppable!

This year's basketball season is going to be great. We have one of the best teams we have had in a long time, which gives people and even better reason to go to the games. At basketball games the main goal is to wear some sort of blue and white to represent our school. I see the people in the erruption zone wearing more casual clothes like jerseys and spirit wear, but there are always some people that dress up for the game. Regardless of where you're sitting, always wear your blue and white.

I definitely don't think it's necessary to dress up for basketball games here. Our basketball team is actually good, so there is less focus on what people are wearing and more focus on the game itself. Having been to many basketball games myself, I know the importance of dressing in layers. The walk to Rupp is almost always freezing, but inside it's a million degrees. As a solution, I bought a blue UK Columbia coat and I wear that over a Kentucky tshirt with jeans. The more blue, the better.

I'm so happy that its finally basketball season. This blog did a great job showing the difference between basketball and football season. Football people are there for more of a social gathering and basketball people are there to be fans and support a great team. I love UK basketball and excited to watch the more than impressive team we have this year.

UK basketball is another even that students can show their trendy fashions. Even though it is cold out, students try to dress their best. I agree with the blog that basketball games are a more dress down event than football games, which is think is good considering a dress in the winter would be a little outragous. I know everyone is excited as I am about this basketball season!

I loved this article because it is neat to see how the trends change from on sporting event to another. I love basketball season because it is more of a relaxed style and you don't have to worry about dressing up in dresses or blazers. Though you are still looking semi nice but in jeans this time. Plus this article just got me even more excited for basketball season, and going to the games!
