Back in Black (Friday)

Get your coffee and Redbull ready!!! The shopping season has begun with the infamous Black Friday shoppers. Thousands of crazy shoppers form lines outside of stores starting Thanksgiving and November 25. Stores have been opening earlier and earlier as the years pass. People are even cutting Thanksgiving dinner short just to get a good deal on a TV. Stores such as Walmart and Target opened up at 10 pm on Thanksgiving! While Fayette mall opened at 4 am on Friday morning and at an unusual 7am on Saturday morning.  This is a picture of the line to get into Walmart at 10pm in Maryland.
With so many people fighting for the same deals a few quarrels are inevitable; someone even broke out their pepper spray to get a deal! In order to get more customers to the Nicholasville Walmart the Kentucky Basketball team made an appearance. People left their spots in the long line just to get a few autographs from the players.
This is a picture outside of Macys waiting for the midnight opening in Maryland! Although Black Friday is over there will be plenty of deals continuing throughout the holiday season.
Cyber Monday is another big Internet shopping day for those who are out to get the deals! About 8 of every 10 retailers posts sales on their website starting Sunday, November 27 and continuing through Monday. Cyber Monday is a great day to shop because you can purchase items on sale from work, at home, or even on your phone now. Whether or not Black Friday or Cyber Monday is your thing or not its time to shop, shop, shop because Christmas is just around the corner!

I feel as if I am one of the only people who have never been shopping on black friday. Even though shopping is one of my favorite things I have never felt the need to go shopping on black friday. I think a lot of the stores have deals on things that i don't need like TV's and video games. I think cyber monday seems like a great idea!! I think stores did a great job of advertising this as well because I got many emails sunday and yesterday telling me about the promotion.

My family usually starts early Friday morning shopping and in the past I haven't gone. This year I was daring enough to go but we didn't start shopping till around 9. Even starting so late we got a great deal on all new kitchen appliances and they still had plenty in stock! Black Friday has become so much about appliances and TV anymore that people just go out to get them and head back home. I think Cyber Monday is amazing!! It offers all the benefits of Black Friday without having to leave your house! I'm a complete Cyber Monday fan over Black Friday!

To my family, Black Friday is almost as important as Thanksgiving. My mom never participates, but my brothers, dad, aunt and friends always come along. This year was crazy because so many stores started their sales on Thanksgiving instead of on Friday. The lines were booming! Just waiting in line to get in stores was intense, but once you were in a checkout line it was usually even longer. It would be such a smart idea to grab the deals online because they opened at the same times as in store and you could avoid the long lines and crowds. Still, I think Black Friday is fun and it has been a tradition with my family for years!

I'm not really a big fan of going out at the crazy hours to do black Friday shopping. My dad and my brothers are ones that like to wake up at the early hours and go get some type of electronic item. Back home I had friends camping outside Best Buy starting Wednesday night, so they can get a good deals. I think its just crazy that people go all out for one day. I went out on Friday, mid-day and got crazy deals with my mom at different stores. But, knowing that there are going to be good deals throughout the holiday season. I rather just wait and not get hurt.

I don't usually get into the black friday shopping. It has never been something that I really feel like going and doing. The good sales really aren't enough for me to go out there and wait hours upon hours in lines, and wait hours upon hours of standing outside of the doors to open. Especially like the article said cyber Monday is a huge deal now because not everyone wants to go and wait in all those lines. Also, a lot of stores are now offering all their deal through the internet, I would much rather prefer just order from the internet rather than waiting in the line.

I tried going shopping on Black Friday but it didn't work out too well. I'm originally from Georgetown and so last year I went shopping at the local Wal Mart for Black Friday and it wasn't that bad. Lexington, on the other hand, is a disaster zone! I was out for four hours and I didn't get anything because everywhere was so crowded! I started out at Toys R Us and the line was wrapped around the building to get in. After I gave up on getting into Toys R Us I went to Wal Mart, found virtually everything on my shopping list and then tried to get in the line to check out and the line was backed up all the way from the very front of the store to the back of the store where the electronics are. After waiting for an hour, I gave up and decided that I will never EVER try shopping on Black Friday again.

I have actually never been shopping on black Friday. I am NOT a morning person, so that's the main reason. Also, I am usually still spending time with my family, who never really want to go out in the madness. This year I wanted to go out on Thanksgiving evening, but by the time all of the family stuff was over, I would've needed to be in line for about 3 hours already. If I had gone out, I wanted to go to Target and just look at the clothing and accessories. I was not interested in being attacked in the electronics section! It is ridiculous that people will go so far as to mace someone for a few dollars.

I didn't go Black Friday shopping this year. It was always a huge tradition with my family but once the stores started opening before 6 AM we stopped going. The lines are always crazy and we would rather pay full price online and not have to fight the store. I think it was a great idea for Nicholasville Walmart to have the basketball team make an appearance. This probably brought a lot more traffic into the store and probably brought some people who weren't planning on shopping. Black Fridy gets crazier every year so I'm glad some of us lazy shoppers can hold out for Cyber Monday!

I really enjoyed this article because i have never actually shopped on black Friday, i have always worked it. I'm more of a cyber Monday kind of girl, it beats waiting in those long lines and then not getting what you wanted. I was surprised to see how many people were out at 3 am when i had to work at 4 am. The whole concept of black Friday blows my mind and how people actually go out and shop in the early hours of the morning.

I dont go early black friday shopping, that is way too stressful for me. I go later in the day when all the dedicated ones are sleeping and the deals are somewhat still around. that way the crowds are smaller, but there are still sales. unfortunately I have found a lot of the sales people are a lot meaner then years past.

Every year I go shopping on Black Friday with my family. It is something we look forward to every Thanksgiving. Although I have never stood in line for one particular item the night before, I do enjoy spending the day shopping and looking at all of the deals. I usually go out as soon as the stores open, but this year I didn't go until around 9 in the morning. I still found some great deals and got a lot of my Christmas shopping done in one day!

I did not go shopping on black Friday. I have been a couple of times in the past though. I think it is ridiculous that stores are opening on Thanksgiving Day. This is not only taking shoppers away from their families, but the employees as well. I'm all for a good deal, but I would rather spend time with my family and sleep in! Plus with cyber Monday, you can pretty much get the same deals from the comfort of your couch and avoid the long lines.

Stores really have been opening earlier and earlier. I love to go black friday shopping every year but was surprised this year when Walmart started their sales at 10:00 on thursday. That seems a little too early because it isn't even friday yet. I didn't get to participate in Black Friday this year because I had to work but I did get to participate in cyber monday. I am glad that they are having online deals.

I have never been shopping on Black Friday but I think it is amazing what kind of deals I hear people getting. It always seems to be electronics that the prices are extremely marked down from their original price.
This year was actually the first year I participated in the cyber Monday sales. Although I was disappointed in some retailers lack of good deals I did find some Christmas presents for cheaper than I had anticipated and all of the websites had free shipping!

I can't remember a time when I did shop on black friday. The day that I dedicate most of my shopping to is the day after Christmas. It's my dad's birthday so it's a tradition for my mom, my sister and I to go to the mall (usually start with Target) early in the morning and leave my dad alone with new dvds for him to watch. Us being out of the house and leaving him alone is our biggest present to him. Other than that, I don't have huge shopping trips because I cannot stand traffic and I'd be afraid of spending the money that I'd save from the sales on unnecessary items.

I have actually never gotten up early to do black friday. my family always goes to kansas city around noon and we do our shopping stuff there. they always seem to have everything we are looking for and it is close to where i live, so it is easy to get home. my family isn't the type that goes to the mall right after thanksgiving dinner just to stand in line. we like to have family time while we shop.

I have only participated in black Friday one year and said I would never do it again. Last year I sat in Walmart from 10 pm to 5 am to get a laptop for my boyfriend. While in line we were only allowed to leave every hour for a 5 minute restroom break. We were not even allowed to have someone else stand in line in our place. While I was sitting in line my mom was getting beat up (literally shoved) over a Jeep for my nephew. After that experience we decided we will pay full price from now on! It is crazy what people will do to save money. In my home town, people were camped outside of Best Buy on Wednesday.

I didnt get to shop on black Friday because I was working all day which was a huge dissapointment. I work at Logans by the Fayette Mall and we were not as busy as they were expecting since were right next to the mall. When I went into work Friday morning the mall was already packed. I hope in the future I will be able to get out and shop on black friday and get as great of deals as I heard this year.

I can honestly say that I've only been Black Friday shopping once and it was madness. I don't think I'll ever go again. There are just too many crazy people out there willing to shove, push and pull their way through crowds in order to get the "deal of the century" when in reality the deals are limited and not that much better than your average holiday sales. Maybe I'm wrong, I mean I've only Black Friday shopped once, but I would rather wait for the craziness to settle and do my holiday shopping at another time.

My mom and I usually go out for Black Friday, but with stores opening so early this year, we didn't make the midnight cut. Instead, we were able to order a lot of what we wanted online from Target and Kohls. We did, however, make it to the local mall around 5 AM to go clothes shopping! Waiting in line for hours is too much for me, so I will never be doing that.

This year with my sisters working black Friday I was unsure of how our usual family adventure would turn out. Yet we prevailed just a little later than those pictured in the pictures here. My older sister got off at 4:30 so we decided to go at five to all the stores. We went to quite a few of the ones that opened at midnight Friday or on Thanksgiving and found the experience actually much more enjoyable. They still had almost all the deals in stock but all the crazy lines and pepper spray holding people were gone. So this year I have to say the new hours talked about here really made my black Friday less hectic but also less adventurous.

I have only been shopping on black Friday once, and I really have no desire to ever go again. There are too many people who get too serious, and it just isn't for me. However, the deals are crazy! I just wish that retailers would stop opening at midnight. I feel badly for all the employees that have to leave their families early to go to work. While I have only been black Friday shopping once very early in the morning, I did stop in a few stores on my way into work, and I found a great deal at New York and Co. It was 50% off the entire store!

I am definitely one of those crazy black Friday shoppers. It is something that I look forward to every year after Thanksgiving. I am not one of the ones that stand outside for the electronics but I am for sure the one that will stand in line and wait for my favorite stores at the mall to open. I use black Friday to shop all day and finish all my christmas shopping all that day so that I don’t have to be in that traffic again until the day after christmas were I can do it all again. This year I didn’t see as many deals as I did in previous year but there were still stores that had some pretty good deals. I went to wildcat wearhouse for my dad because he loves UK stuff and the whole entire store was 60% off!

This phenomenon flat out amazes me. People will ultimately do anything for a discount. Personally, I would rather pay full price than deal with any of this mayhem. I have almost completely become an internet shopper just to avoid crowds anyway. Cyber Monday is something I actually just learned about this year, and boy it is right up my alley. All the discounts from the warmth and comfort of my couch.

Black Friday shopping has been a traditional event in my family. We are amongst those crazy shoppers out there trying to get the best deals. This year however I didn't find that many key items that I just had to have. I picked up a few things but I was mostly out there just for the tradition and to people watch. I also enjoy cyber Monday, I found alot of good deals and completed my shopping list.

Black friday is getting crazier and crazier each year! I love a good deal but I do not care enough to get up so early in the morning or go really late at night. I did go shopping on Black friday with my family and we arrived at the mall at 11 in the afternoon. There were plenty of deals still around and it was pretty crowded. Even though I didn't go during the crazy black friday times I found a bunch of clothes and did score some pretty good deals. I do not think it is necessary to open stores earlier each year. I think Thanksgiving should be spent with family and then shoppers can go in early on Black friday if they really prefer.

I have never participated in black Friday and probably never will. People get too amped up about it, causing them to do really stupid and crazy things! It's amazing to see how far people will go just for a sale. If you can't afford it at regular price, you don't need it. There needs to be some kind of regulations on black Friday shopping, such as how many customers a store can let in at a time.

I liked this one. I LOVE black friday. It's a tradition that many people just do because it's fun and exciting. I didn't like that stores did early shopping by opening on thanksgiving day. I think the point of thanksgiving is spending time with family and being thankful for the non-materialistic things in your life, and that just kinda ruined it for me. Waiting in line really sucks, but it's fun and you can get some amazing deals!

I am a big Black Friday shopper! My mom and I usually go to the mall around 4am but this year we went to the mall and Walmart at midnight this year. We were not really expecting to see a line waiting outside both of the stores. Stores did a great job advertising their sales and what time their stores opened at. Black Friday is a great way to get in a lot of christmas shopping in and would tell anyone who hasn't gone out on Black Friday to go!

I have never got enough courage to get out on black friday. I think I would enjoy the sales and the experience itself but I couldn't handle the people. This year I told myself I was going to finally do it, go out and shop! Then I got to the mall and saw all the people waiting outside at 11 and looked across the street at Target and saw it's line, then I got right back in my car and went home. I did end up doing some shopping online on black Friday, which was nice that some stores are doing that. I hope to see that trend continue and see stores maybe even do a "black cyber weekend" you know mix the two shopping days into one giant weekend. I think it would bring a very big increase to sales.

I have never actually shopped on black Friday. My mom has asked me a few times and we both always decide that it is was to much effort. I usually end up working on black Friday. I work at a salon that share a same parking lot at Kenwood Mall in Cincinnati. It usually takes me at least a half an hour to get into work and find a parking spot. And it took about just as long to leave too!

I have never been a Black Friday shopper myself. I enjoy sleeping in Friday morning after eating all that great food on Thanksgiving. I got all kinds of e-mails from retail stores about Cyber Monday deals. Though I didn't get to take advantage of them due to a school project I was working on, this seems like the best way to get great deals without having to leaving your home and wait in those long lines. With Black Friday, the holiday shopping season has officially started, and I definitely need to get started on my own Christmas shopping!

I actually had the privilege of working at midnight on black Friday. Surprisingly, working at midnight was a whole lot easier than having to get up and go to work at 6am like I did last year. Having shopping start earlier in the day seems to give more people time to shop and, therefor, the shoppers are spread out thoughout the day. This is probably nice for all parties involved.

Every year black friday starts earlier and earlier. Next year were going to see stores open at 4pm on Thanksgiving day. I did make it out to shop on black friday and I can honestly say that no deal is worth it. I would rather just pay the extra couple dollars. Lines to park were long, as well as the lines wrapping around stores to get in. Also people get out of control on black friday. Look at the lady who pepper sprayed a bunch of people.

Black Friday shopping is my favorite time to shop all year. The sales can't be beat and you can get products for almost 50% off retail price. I went to the Cincinnati Premium Outlets Thursday night to start my black friday shopping. Most of the stores opened at 9 PM, but other stores like The NorthFace, Fossil, and Coach did not open until 10. I think the best time to shop is on Black Friday and I will continue to go out each year and shop on the day.

christmas is a huge holiday and purchasing the right gift is always a little bit better when you find it on sale for s great price. I have an app for most of my favorite stores so i make sure to recieve notifications when there is a sale going on, it's also great because sometimes you get special deals for having the app or even being apart of a club within the retailers company like pink nation with victoria's secret they are always sending me text messages about sales going on or how i can recieve a free item when i purchase something. The bright and sparkly decorations are really attractive to the customers eye so if you can create an interesting display window the better chance you have of getting the consumer into your store. With the mall being extra busy during the holiday season it makes it harder to get customers in your store so where you place teh signs showing what sales you ahve going on are really important. Online shopping is also really great becasue they sometimes offer deals online that you cant get in stores and they have items that you cant sometimes find in stores.
