Halloween- Two is Better Than One!

Let’s be honest, Halloween is a holiday just about everyone looks forward to. Who wouldn’t enjoy dressing up as whatever they wanted to be and getting free candy? Although, the free candy was something people may have looked forward to when they were a kid the whole Halloween celebration is a lot different in college. Not only, does the Halloween celebrations seem to last an entire weekend, but this provides students the opportunity to not have to pick just one costume. Due to the ongoing celebration most college students have at least three different costumes to wear throughout the festivities!
One popular trend that seems to be more common in college is people dress up in couple costumes, and even group costumes. A lot of people like to dress in couple or group costumes with their closest friends. This definitely gives students the opportunity to be creative and to break away from the usual costumes they might typically see. Couple costumes are fun because people can dress up with their best friends, or even their boyfriend or girlfriend. A creative idea that seemed to be popular here on UK’s campus was Thing 1 & Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss. This idea is great because it’s a simple cheap costume yet still is very unique. Group costumes are popular as well because people don’t have to chose just one friend they want to dress up with, they can dress up with three or four different friends. A cute idea was dressing up as the popular pop group, Spice Girls.
Whatever the costume, it’s obvious that Halloween is a beloved holiday and is especially enjoyable as a college student. With the ongoing celebration throughout the weekend people don’t have to settle with just one costume, they get the chance to have a few different costumes to show off throughout the Halloween weekend!

Although the excitement of dressing up and getting candy on Halloween as a child is not there anymore, I loved my first Halloween as a college student. I didn't have to only choose one costume, and the creativity of some costumes was really amazing. I loved seeing everyone come up with costumes they made themselves, whether it be a couple or group costume. This article did a great job showing that Halloween doesn't have to last for only one night with only one costume. The creativity of college students with their Halloween costumes is amazing!

I agree with the blog. Everyone does have a tight budget when it comes to Halloween. I don't think I saw any costumes where they went to Halloween express and bought one. Many of the ones I saw were made by whoever wore them, or if one of their friends had previously worn it. I think it is very popular for people to dress as couples or in groups. I think the most that I saw this past weekend was spice girls, Mario and Luigi, and thing 1 and thing 2.

I really enjoyed seeing all the different costumes for my first Halloween at college. I felt like because people needed so many costumes for one weekend, you could tell that a lot of people would dress up in large groups. Some would even borrow their friends costumes from the night before, in order to save themselves from having to get a new costume. I also noticed people saving money by wearing dresses made out of duct tape. They made for really cute, and super cheap costumes.

Even though I may be a bit too old to trick or treat I still love dressing up in costume. Halloween has always been my favorite holiday and this weekend I got to dress up in three different costumes! I really enjoyed seeing everyones creative ideas all weekend including couples and group costumes. And they were right, I saw hardly any people with store bought costumes. Brainstorming cute ideas with your friends is the way to go! My first Halloween in college definitely impressed me!

I used to always look forward to Halloween as a kid because of all of the candy! Now, however, I love Halloween even more because I love dressing up all weekend. This year I saw so many couple and group costumes. It is such a popular idea and it is very fun considering you can be almost anything when you have a group of people. I did a couple costume this year with my boyfriend and it was a lot of fun! I always look forward to Halloween each year and all of the crazy costumes people wear.

It's been hard this year to have good costumes because I attended three costume parties. I didn't want to wear the same costume twice, so I had to get creative. My first costume I splurged and bought one at Halloween Express but my other ones I decided to get creative. I did follow the trend and pair with one of my friends for one of them. Her and I wore black dresses and purchased santa hats and Christmas tool to wear as necklaces. We also bought red and green striped socks with fur at the top. We were Christmas themed which worked out great because it's amazing how many stores already have Christmas items out!

This blog explains some very true facts about Halloween. Alot of college kids do not have the money to go out and spend 50 bucks on a costume so making their own I agree was a big trend this year. My roommates and I took part in a group theme of the t.v show deal or no deal. Our guy roommate was Howie Mandell and us three girls were the case girls. It was very inexpensive but very different and cute! I am anxious to see what the next couple halloween's are going to be like in this college town.

I do love couple costumes because it can make Halloween more fun for you and your friends. This year we had a Halloween date party and my friends and i dressed up as different Barbies. It was cheap and a lot of fun. There were also a lot of funny couple costumes we saw, and overall i think everyone just got a lot more creative, with their costume ideas. I especially loved seeing the thing 1 and thing 2 costume, because that is one of my favorite characters!

At the beginning October I was not looking forward to Halloween. I just don't like the weather changing and it getting cold. But as it got closer to Halloween and I started going to pumpkin patches, I was getting in the mood. In the article it talked about friends matching for Halloween. At first this was what me and a bunch of friends were going to do. But we ended up being refs. Simple and easy costumes.

I have definitely seen more people coordinating their costumes with others. I think this is a really fun idea because it makes their costumes more unique and fun. One year I was posh spice and not only did I dress up with other girls as the Spice girls, but my boyfriend dressed like David Beckham! Costumes can easily be overdone and seen everywhere, so its fun to see people making their own. I wasn't too creative this year, but hopefully next year I can think of something better!

I completely agree with this blogs point. Majority of people in college dress up in pairs or groups. I think that it is a lot more fun that way. Also most of us don't have unlimited funds so making costumes and doing it cheap is definitely a popular thing. I think when you do group costumes and you make your own it's more fun that way anyway.

I love Halloween!! I've been a bumble bee, sailor,Pocahontas, and Batman&Robin with my best friend. I usually go out and buy a costume, however this year I went cheap and made my own. I was Ke$ha and I've got to say it was one of my favorites!I think couple costumes are really fun and I loved having my best friend as my Batman last year! Couple costumes allow you to be creative together! I saw some AMAZING group costumes this year. I loved guys dressed as 90s boy bands! The article did a great job showing that it's just as fun in college as it was as a kid and allows you to think out of the box to come up with a great costume!

Halloween in college is so much more fun then it was in High School! Everyone was out at parties from Thursday night before Halloween all the way through Halloween day on Monday. It was so much fun! I saw a lot of very funny creative costumes this weekend. For example, I saw a couple that went as a mustard and ketchup bottle and another couple who went as two homeless people. As for me, my boyfriend and I went as a cowboy and a cowgirl. It was so much fun!

Halloween as a college student is so different than being a kid! During middle school and high school you go through a phase where Halloween isn't a big deal then you come to college and people are obsessed with it! Having a good costume really puts everything together! Couple customers are hugh on campus. One of my favorite ideas i've heard is Boo & Sully from Monsters Inc. Wether you're going with a group of friends, a date, or just solo making sure you have the right customer is a must!

It was fun to see all the different ideas people came up with when it came to costumes! The creativity was just awesome. Like the article says, being on a strict college budget doesn't really permit for us to go spend tons of money on a costume, so the use of things right out of your closet mixed with basic, cheap items from craft stores was key. The array of costumes and ideas was so awesome and I can't wait to use some of the ideas I saw this year for my costumes in the future.

I love Halloween! The candy was definitely the best part when I was a kid and I still look forward to it now, but dressing up is my favorite. This year I borrowed three costumes from my friend so I had plenty of options. My sorority had a date party on Friday and I was so excited to coordinate costumes with my date. I ended up being a ref and he ended up being an army man. I was so mad that he didn't match my costume but it was still fun. We also had plenty of candy available at the house so it was a pretty good Halloween!

Halloween weekend is my favorite weekend in college. The costume parties provide a fun and different atmophere than the normal weekends. My favorite costumes are the ones that are hommade and clever. Group costumes are definitely popular. I saw several couple costumes and also just friends dressed up together. The Dr. Seus costume was a really great and simple idea!

being a freshman this year, i didn't really know what to expect when it came to halloween festivities in college. however, i was pleasantly surprised that students got so into the holiday and dressing up. i absolutely love dressing up for halloween so i was very excited to learn that halloween parties are an all weekend thing; i got to wear two different costumes and see a lot of very creative costumes worn by other students. now that i know what to expect i will definitely be unleashing my creative side next year!

I love the couple and group costumes I have seen this Halloween. From an entire "Anchorman" gang including Ron Burghandy, to the whole "Fruit of the Loom" fruit group, I have been entirely impressed by the effort put into such costumes. Although the average college student no longer is involved in trick-or-treating, the costumes seem to get more creative each year. Driving around campus over the weekend was entertainment in itself. Most college students were walking to or from parties fully dressed in costume, and the "walk of shames" the next morning provided even better entertainment. Overall the weekend was an enjoyable show to witness some weird and creative costumes!

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. It is also a great time to wear something that you could only get away with on this holiday. Everyone will go all out on Halloween. I dressed up as a Mexican and went out with my friends to the bars. Everyone gets very creative and some people even make their costumes. Halloween is a great time to express your fashion styles!

Although I used to love getting all of the candy I could, now that i'm in college i love getting to dress up at least two times in different costumes. I think you're absolutely right. It's funny how Halloween seems to be more fun now that we're older. More people celebrate now than they did in high school and middle school. I also noticed a lot of girls dressing up as Thing 1 and Thing 2. I remember going to class the friday before Halloween and seeing to girls wearing that costume. I agree that dressing up as a group is fun. One of my favorites was seeing students dress up as the Power Rangers.

I think its interesting when people make their own costume. I love looking at the creative ways people make their costume. Halloween can be so expensive. I really liked how it shows that you can pull it off on a budget. You can even ask a friend to swap costumes with you, since Halloween is now a weekend holiday.

Halloween is definitely an exciting experience in college! A couple years ago my friends and I dressed up in a Christmas theme.. A couple of us were presents, one was Mrs. Clause, and we even had a Christmas tree! It was so much fun! Last year, my roommates and I dressed up as the three little pigs, it was super funny! It's so funny to see the different themes and trends from year to year!

I love dressing up for Halloween! Every year I get as creative as I can when thinking of my costume. Just like the article said, I love group costumes! My group had our costume planed since the day after Halloween last year. We were the Spice Girls too. Another good group I saw this year was the SNL "Band" The Lonely Island, which brought a lot of laughs. Designing costumes is always a lot of fun for me. I always say that I won't ever go as something boring and common like a police officer or nurse. I have to have the best costume, and I might just have next years' planned already!
