The New Working Out Craze: Color-blocking

Who said that you couldn't look good while working out? That's right! We're seeing fashionistas everywhere! Now, they're invading your local gym. You don't have to wear the old high school shirt and Soffe shorts anymore. Replacing those old rags are bright, neon shirts and matching Nike running shorts. This latest color-blocking trend has taken over the UK campus, mostly seen being sported by girls. You can't go anywhere without seeing someone donning bright neon running shorts, crew socks, Nike's on their feet, and a variety of shirts, accompanied by the yoga, stretchy headband. Most recently, this trend is even being seen outside of the weight room and forming into a new casual look

Now, that it's fall and getting colder the trend is slowly starting to evolve again. The less bold girls are trading their shorts in for yoga pants or fitted capris, while staying in the comfort of a sweatshirt. The yoga pants and capris are a little toned down, with neutral black, but the neon still lives on. The waistband usually being a variety of colors and patterns, giving this look a little personality. Not only are these trends dipping back into the 70's era and giving it a modern twist, but they also make a person feel and look better. The bright colors boost your mood and yoga pants have a mysterious way of making all body types look good. So while you're glistening in the gym, (remember we don't sweat ladies!) you might as well look good while doing it!

I love working out in bright fun clothes. I think that it shows how fashion has become more integral with working out. I like buying fun clothes cause it makes me want to work out so I can wear the clothes. I like that you can look decent while getting gross and sweaty.

I wish it was acceptable to wear cute work out clothes every day, and even out on the weekends! They are by far the most comfortable clothing around and I can't even begin to count the number of yoga pants and cute nike shorts I have. Not only are they really comfortable but as the blog says they are coming out with a lot of cute ideas which seem to be getting more popular each day. I love to work out so it's nice I can wear something cute at the gym instead of my old t-shirts. Target has come out with a bunch of cute neon work out clothes that seem to be really popular because walking through campus I always seem to see someone sporting something from Target!

I love that girls are stepping up their style in and outside the gym! I have to say I'm a proud owner of multiple yoga pants and capris and nike shorts. Not only do I feel good working out but I look good! And I can wear my gym outfit to catch a bite to eat after working out without looking like a bum. Also you were right on with the 70's reference, that look is coming back. I think this trend with be around for a while.

This trend is defiantly something that is picking up. I myself have just bought my first pair of these shorts, and I have to say I understand why people love them so much. They are so comfortable and such fun colors, and like the article said they are in style around the UK campus. As the weather gets cooler it will be interesting to see how this neon color trend transitions into the fall and winter months.

I love that the workout attire is becoming more fashionable and acceptable outside of the gym. It allows me to not feel so bad when all I want to wear in the mornings are my running shorts or yoga pants paired with a v neck or sweatshirt. It also relieves some of the stress some girls have of getting "dolled" up for classes and allows them to be comfortable while still looking fashionable and cute!

This is clearly a very popular trend right now. I think a lot of this can be attributed to the fact that girls are wearing their running shorts to go places other than the gym. Almost every girl I know owns a pair of these nike running shorts, and wear them to classes. Some people are not adventurous enough to wear the neon colors yet, but even these girls wear neutral colored shorts, such as navy or black. I personally LOVE bright colors, and think that this revisited '80's style is awesome!

I can totally relate to this article. I have always loved cute workout clothes, and I am glad that the trend has carried over to everyday wear. Dressing for college is so much different than high school, it's all about comfort. So yoga pants are my go to piece of clothing for class. I even wore a black carpi pair today with a sparkle animal print waistband! I also love that nike shorts are in style. I have a few pairs in bright colors as well!

This trend is difinitely picking up alot in the past year or so. I always thought that the bright workout shorts were only worn by runners or soccor players, but I was wrong. Recentely, alot of girls have been wearing them on campus. I personally do not own a pair of these athletic shorts but I am going to be purchasing them in the near future because yes, they are cute and look very comfortable. As far as the yoga pants, I LOVE THEM! They are so comfortable and very cute! Like the article says and I agree with it makes every shape and size look presentable.

Everytime I use to work out, I would want to dress cute while doing it, who knows who your going to see, but the one thing that absolutely amazes me is girls that do their hair and makeup before they work out, just to sweat it off. It never made any sense to me. I think its okay to dress in cute workout clothes, because one thing is they are very comfortable. I would wear work out clothes every day and out on the weekends if it was acceptable. Nike has the cutest neon shorts, and my mother actually has a few from back in here, so the trend is definitely coming back from the 80's. I agree that cute workout clothes are a must.

These workout trends are definitely seen outside of the gym every day. There are so many girls who wear these bright colored nike running shorts and yoga pants around campus. I own several pairs of both the running shorts and the yoga pants and I absolutely love to wear them everywhere even outside of the gym. They are so comfortable and cute. When I do wear them to workout, I prefer wearing bright neon colors because they are so fun and make me feel good.

I love the nike running shorts! and it seems like everyone else does too you cant walk through campus without seeing someone wearing them. They are the most comfortable thing its comfy meets cute. There great for the days you just wanna be comfy you can throw on a sweatshirt or t-shirt and your shorts and go to class. Its a great way to still be fashionable and show off your personality with the bright colors while working out. I dont have a pair of the yoga pants or capris but i can tell there also very popular expecially the ones from victoria secret. Its great that there not just black pants the bands come in all patterns and colors its another great way to show off your personality.

I totally agree with this article. Anywhere you go on campus you’re going to see someone wearing these bright Nike shorts. I know I have some they are so comfy but yet fun at the same time. Unlike the boring Soffe shorts. I also think that yoga pants are a good idea for when it gets colder outside. The yoga pants aren’t as fun as the neon shorts but they do have some that you can roll down and have designs on the folded pant. I overall love this trend.

This trend has really been evolving the past year. The shorts in the first picture have become the go-to shorts for girls this fall. I think it's a fun look not to just work out in, but for an everyday outfit. The past couple of years, the yoga pant look has really become popular. My roommate wears some sort of yoga pants or those shorts everyday. It's interesting that this is a new fashion for girls, and I like it. The look is comfortable, and like the post said, it does look good on all body types!

I love the colorblocking trend! Puma has so many cute workout shirts that are colorblocked! I can't resist them and they make me feel like I look cute at the gym. Color blocking has been everywhere lately. I also love that people are changing back into yoga pants now that it's fall. Yoga pants are great and so comfortable! I really love these trends.

I go to the Johnson Center several times a week and see all of the bright colors people are wearing. I think it is interesting to look at how it can put people in better moods. The clothes can come in so many colors, the neon colors really catch the eye. I like that this trend is increasing so fast, the colors are great to see and put everyone in a good mood.

I love the bright color shorts and t-shirts when working out. On the days that you really just don't feel like going to work out, the bright colors brighten your day and get you in a better mood. I agree with the article that this trend is spreading across campus. When your running late for class this is a easy, comfortable, yet stylish way to go. I believe the yoga pants will be a big hit this winter, with sweatshirts and uggs.

I know everyday when I walk into gymnastics practice I walk in wearing either colorful Nike running shorts or Victoria Secret yoga pants with the cute designs on the top. I think that running shorts and yoga pants are two great things to wear to the gym because they still allow you to look cute even when your all sweaty and tired. This trend was spreading pretty quickly in Maryland during the last school year and in the summer, and has been a huge trend here in Kentucky since I got here. I wonder how long this trend of workout clothes will stay for!

I have way too many Nike shorts and yoga pants to count! This blog post was spot on! You can always find me wearing my Nike shorts and bright shirts to not only the gym but also to class. This trend makes comfy clothes cute! Yoga pants and leggings are perfect for the winter with a big sweatshirt and make walking to class a little bit warmer.

i love that the 70's style is coming back. i love how they had bright clothes and matching different styles together. that is totally my style. but when i came to college, i thought people had to wear the "college style" and have to act older. but i saw so many people just wearing sweats and yoga shorts to class. my mom got so mad at me when she saw me wearing sweats to class. oh well, that college style now :)
