Places to grab some grub

There are a lot of places to eat in Lexington being that it is a college town. Some places are more upscale while other eateries cater to the college population.  If you want to eat at a nicer restaurant then Drakes is a good option.  Drakes has three different menus that you can order from while dining.  The three menus include Sushi, Malones, and bar food. The Malones menu is more of steaks, pasta and burgers while the bar menu consists of nachos, bar burgers and bar appetizers.  Drakes is a good atmosphere.  It has two different bars and a large patio for the spring/summer/early fall time.  It is a perfect eatery for after Keeneland or having your parents come take you out to dinner while they are visiting.
Hugh Jass Burgers is still relatively new on the scene in Lexington. It is a fun place to go grab a drink and a burger and watch some football.  People can come sit on the patio and enjoy their $1 cold drafts and hang out with their friends. You can wear jeans and a college tee and you’ll fit in just fine. Sometimes they have live music on the patio. Hugh Jass also has a 50 oz burger club. If you eat the entire hamburger topped with cheese, lettuce, tomato and onion in 25 minutes then your meal is free, you get a free t-shirt and your name on the wall of fame.

Coming to UK all the way from Chicago, I didn't know the Lexington area very well, but two of the places I have gone to and loved are both Drake's and Hugh Jass. One of my first nights here I went to Drake's with all my sorority sisters, and it was a great eating experience. They are able to seat a large amount of people at one time, and have excellent service. Hugh Jass is also a really fun place to go to and I suggest it to anyone coming in from out of town. Hugh Jass has a super fun atmosphere and is a place people of all ages can go to grab a bite to eat. I would say these two restaurants are some of the best in Lexington.

These are both amazing restaurants in Lexington. I go to Huge Jass at least once a week for their nachos. If you have never had them you should definitely go try them. You will be hooked. Huge Jass also has really good DJs come in every now and then. I was there on a Monday night to watch a football game and ended up staying till 2am because of the DJ. Drakes is a good place to go if you are on a date. The atmosphere and food are perfect for a romantic night out. These two restaurants are absolutely among the best in this town.

Both of these places are fun places to enjoy games and such. The atmosphere is perfect for UK students who are looking to unwind. Also, both places offer great patio areas that enable you to enjoy nice weather while eating. Personally I would love for a BHG restaurant to move closer to campus!!

I love that Lexington has so many different options to choose from when it comes to restaurants. I think that they captured the atmosphere of Hugh Jass really well. I like that it is so close to campus. Since I live in New North it is very convenient for me to go to, it is just a short walk. I have only eaten there once so far, but I plan to go back because it is really good!

I actually work at Malone's (the Hamburg location) so I know all about people coming in to eat, especially after Keeneland. Our location doesn't offer Drake's, but both Harry's and Malone's satisfy many people all the time. On a typical Saturday night during Keeneland season, we'll be slammed with people just coming back from the races. During football/basketball seasons, Harry's is always packed with people watching the games. It's a fun place to work and since we always have good business, we're never too bored.

Sadly I've only been to Huge Jass, and love it there. I hear good things about Drake's one day I'll make my way to Drake's. But Lexington does have good options for places to go out to eat with friends and family. A lot of my friends come down from Maryland and I take them to different places around Lexington because we don't have many of these places back home. For a small city they have a lot more restaurants and different types then back home.

I have been to both of these restaurants many times since moving here to Lexington. This summer I went to Drakes almost every weekend with the people I worked with. It is a very fun atmosphere and the food is fantastic! It is nice to sit on the patio on a warm summer night. I also love going to Hugh Jass. It is an exciting place to go and their burgers are great. There are so many great places in Lexington to eat and hang out with friends!

I liked this article because they talk about two places that are my favorite places to eat at. The first time I ever came to Lexington I went to was Hugh Jass, and I immediately fell in love with their burgers. It is also a great place to come to in the summer because they have live bands play outside on the patio. And i love going there during basketball season because they have just about every tv on the uk game. Both places are one of the best restaurants in Lexington!

I think they picked two great spots in Lexington. They both have unique atmospheres that can be enjoyed by lots of different ages. I personally really enjoy Hugh Jass Burgers because it's close to campus and it puts a different spin to the typical burger. I think it's much better than other similar burger places around. I like that there is open seating at Drakes which is nice for a warmer fall day like we've been having. In addition, there is something on the menu for EVERYONE so it's really a great spot to take your friends or family when they pop into town.

I love Lexingtons food choices. Though there arent many local places, I absolutely love the ones that are here. Ramseys is a go to place for me when I'm in the mood for some home cooked meals. I also love hugh jass because they have some awesome drink specials and are close to campus! I also love Pazzos too because it has such a fun atmosphere and the food never disappoints.

The selection at both places really is awesome. I am a vegetarian and also do not eat anything fried, so it is usually a challenge to find something to eat when trying new places. Hugh Jass was awesome about fixing some nachos for me without any meat. Drake's has such a sweet vibe and it was really nice to go and have a relaxed, more sophisticated meal. Both places are key in Lexington dining and I would recommend both to someone coming in town!

All these great restaurants are making it hard to fight off the freshman 15. Drake's is one of my favorite places to grab sushi in town. I used to live right across the street from Hugh Jass and it was always vibrant and buzzing with customers. These restaurants both seem to be doing very successfully in Lexington. College students are always looking for inexpensive ways to dodge typical cafeteria food, and these are great options. Both of these places have a great atmosphere and provide entertainment.

When I first came to UK, I never heard of several restaurants in the area. However, places like Hugh Jass and Smashburger make me jealous of restaurants back home. It's a lot of fun to just go and watch some football or basketball and drink some cheap beer. It really appeals to all the college students in the area. I still haven't been to Drake's yet, but everyone I talk to about it says it's great. With so many good restaurants in the city it's always tough to decide where to go to eat, but I guess that's a good problem to have!!

Being a senior I still find myself finding new places to eat with friends. Lexington has so many options and some of my favorites are the hole in the wall locally owned restaurants. When family comes to town Drakes is always a good choice! Hugh Jass has done wonderful as a new restaurant in Lexington. It is perfect for college students to go eat anytime of the day. It being close to campus makes it very convenient for lunch as well as close to some of the bars for a more night scene. These two places are very different from each other but definitely some great ones!!

Both of these restaurants are delicious ! The first time I ever came to UK I went to Hugh Jass. I love the california hot dog, and their fries with marshmallow sauce is my favorite! I always see people I know there whenever I go, and I just really like the atmosphere of Hugh Jass. I have never been to Drakes, but I've heard nothing but good things about it. I am making it my mission to eat there sometime before the end of the year. However, I really recommend Hugh Jass to anyone who ever comes to Kentucky's campus!

Drakes is one of my favorite places not only to eat but to go for some drinks on the weekends. They have really good food and the nightlife there is great as well. At night inside they turn the lights off and have colored lights that shine around and they play really good music as well. Hugh Jass is also my favorite place to go watch games or to grab cheap drinks with my friends. Both of these lexington restaurants are highly recommended by me, so if you have not been you need to give them a try!

Lexington has the perfect variety of restaurants; whether you want something different or just a different change of scenery, there is always another great place to go to. I love how many of these places are within walking distance from campus, giving students a good variety. Hugh Jass has great food and an even better atmosphere. It's always filled with students, and the patio is a great place when the weather is nice. I have never been to Drake's, but after reading this article, I think I might have to check it out!

I have never been to Hugh Jass but this post makes me want to go! One of my favorite things to do is to eat at new restataunts. I think it's fun to try new places and types of cuisine. Drakes is really popular in Lexington but there are a lot of nice places around here to eat. When I first came to Lexington, I didn't know many places to eat so I ate a lot of fast food but now I'm glad I know about all different types of good places in Lexington!

Any of BHG's locations are great if you are looking for something to eat. Between Harry's, Oscars, Sal's, Drake's and Malone's you have so many options. You can spend a lot and get a steak at Sal's or go the cheeper route and get a sandwich at Harry's. The food is great and the atmosphere is even better, I have never had a bad experience and would recommend it to anyone. If it's late and you are interested in going out to a low key place to hang out with friends and grab a drink, Drake's is a really good option. I've never had a bad time there. At least I don't recall.

I am from Lexington, so I know the variety of restaurants we have! I have been to both of these places and love them both! Drakes is one of my favorite places to eat! Hugh Jass is a great place for college students to go to watch a game or to walk to after a uk football game. It is important that there are places around campus that college students to get to easy and are good. I believe uk campus gives alot of options for students!

I have been to both places and love them both. The food at both of them is very good. I love that at Drake's you can chose from 3 different menus. Not many restaurants do this but I think it's a really cool idea. It's perfect if you're going somewhere with a group because there is so many options that everybody can find something they like.

On campus you can find a wide selection of eating places. I think this article did a good job by picking Huge jass and drake two totally diferent places but very popular with the college students. Drakes is very popular this time of year because of Keenland. I think it is in the perfect location and has the same target market of Keenland which was very smart. Huge Jass also was smart by putting their business right on campus the only thing I would be a little worried about is that there are quite a few burger place right there close to each other. Smash burger, tolly hos and Huge jass are all right there. It will be interesting to see if they all will survive.

I'e never been to drakes but have always wanted to try it. I have been to Hugh Jass though and thought it was really good. I would recommend other people trying that restarant as well. It is a very casual college gathering place. Good article!

I have been to Hugh Jass, but have not been to Drake's. I heard it was really good though. Hugh Jass is amazing!! They definitely have some of the best burgers that I've ever tasted! It is also a cool hang out spot that college kids and sports fans would enjoy with all their big screen televisions providing customers with whatever game is on. They are also very friendly. I love it!

I love the wide variety of different places to eat on campus. Hugh Jass is one of my favorites! Especially on game days you will find me at Hugh Jass after the tailgate ends. Mexican is also one of my favorites whether it be Chipolte/Qdoba or Rincon/The Local Taco, I eat at one of them at least once a week! When ever my parents come into town we also go to Malones or Drakes. Since you can order off of the many menus anyone can find at least one thing the like.

Going out to eat with friends is one of my favorite social activities. I like to try out different cuisine and see what Lexington restaurants have to offer. I have never been to Drake's, but the menu as described in this post sounds like food that I would enjoy. I hope to try it out soon. Hugh Jass is a great place close to campus to grab a burger and fries after class. Both of the restaurants mentioned in the article seem to be Lexington staples.

I have never been it either Drakes or Hugh Jass, but I have heard they are both must go restaurants. Lexington is full of many great and diverse restaurants. In another class we were talking about this same subject. Lexington is actually a test area for chain restaurants. They test their restaurants, such as Smash Burger and Hugh Jass, in Lexington to see if they will become a successful chains. Other restaurants like Fazoli's actually started in Lexington as well. I really need to make my way to both Hugh Jass and Drakes soon!

I love to go out and eat. Both Drake's and Huge Jass are great places to eat. I recently had my first steak at Malone's and it lived up to all the hype. Lexington has so many different food options for such a small city. I work at a hotel and always send my guests to places that I have been so I know they will have a good experience. I would recommend both of these restaurants to anyone visiting Lexington.

I can't count the amount of times I have gone to these two places in the past couple of years I have lived in Lexington. My hometown doesn't have these restaurants and they are almost a "staple" for the Lexington area. The article mentioned having your parents take you out to eat at Drakes... this is one place my parents love to go when they come visit! The past few home football games I have went to Hugh Jass and it's such a great time!

There are so many places to eat here in Lexington and there are a lot that are relatively close to campus. Restaurants around campus have to be making great money because of all of the students. Most restaurants around campus accept plus account so it is easy to eat at more places than just the restaurants on campus. Hugh Jass is a great spot to go to on the weekends and even if you want a burger during the week. I've been there many times during big games and it is a great spot to eat and watch sports.
