Looking Chic While Keeping it Cheap!

As we’re reaching the halfway point of the fall semester, students on the University of Kentucky’s campus are looking for ways to get the maximum amount of sleep while still keeping up with the latest beauty trends. Simple ways you can achieve this are through hair, makeup, and nails.
Braids are an easy way to feel trendy and unique. Whether you have long or short hair, there are endless ways to create this look. While students are busy with classes and extracurricular activities, there isn’t enough time left in the day to create elaborate hairstyles. Most of us cave into taking the five seconds to throw your hair into the common ponytail because we don’t want to take the extra hour to curl it, but what is so appealing about braids, is that it is easy yet still presentable.

Even though the weather is getting colder, UK students are finding ways to add pops of warm and bold color through their nails. A few trends we’ve seen are shatter polish, 4-to-1 accent color, and shellac polish.  The 4-to-1 accent color trend is what we found most popular among college students because of the limited cost and easy accessibility. You can use this style all year round just by inter-changing the nail polish colors you already own. Mixing up neutrals with bold colors or glitter polish adds a statement that most people don’t expect to see.

Living on a limited budget and hectic time schedule, it’s hard to always look your best. Integrating braids and nail trends are two simple ways to achieve a trendy yet still affordable look. You don’t have to spend a ton of money or time to still look cute going to class.

I love how this post gives easy and time-efficient tips on how to stay looking nice. I love taking study breaks and doing my nails, so I'm always looking for new ideas. I also love the braid as it is easy to do, yet looks better than the normal pony tail. Keeping up to date and looking nice doesn't always mean spending hours on hair or money on nails. This post proves you can do it all yourself in a much easier way!

I agree completely with this post. Braids are such an easy way to still look cute. I see tons of girls on campus wearing braids everyday. Painting nails is also a fun way to add to your style. It can be done in a short amount of time and last a few days.

Being busy with school and work makes it very difficult for me to find time to spend on my hair. I always love braiding my hair because it is very quick but also stylish. There are so many girls around campus who braid their hair and it is definitely a trend this fall. I also love to paint my nails. It is fun to change colors and mix them up by changing accents or by adding some glitter. It is definitely another way to stay stylish without spending too much money!

I absolutely love the new trend in braids! I have really fine hair, so sometimes the braids don't work so well for me, but I try them anyways. The fishtail is super cute and I also really like the side braid girls do with their bangs. If I have time, I go and get my nails done in cool colors because I hate painting them myself. Both ideas are very easy and keep you looking presentable and fashionable.

I really appreciated this post and it's quick and easy, yet fashionable, styling tips for college students on a time crunch. I'm always looking for news ways to change up my style, whether it's through mix and matching of accessories, or new hair and nail ideas, that will fit my tight, college student budget. When I find thing like this (new hair/nail styles) that I can do on my own or for very cheap I'm all about it, and the majority of the time those are the things I receive the most compliments on. I think that with the growing popularity of Pinterest, Stumble Upon, and blogging more and more people are into looking for fun and easy DIY projects and ways to achieve fashionable wears at low costs.

I love braids, but never really got the hang of french braiding. I just cant do it! But I also really like messy buns. They are so easy, and with the right outfit, can look super chic. I am also obsessed with nail polish. I love to change my nail polish! Its such a great way to make small changes everyday. I'm for everything, shatter, glitter, nude colors, but have never tried 4-to-1. I am definitely going to have to try it soon!

I agree with every point made in this post! When you're in school you have limited time, money, and less energy (from all the late night studying). A simple yet stylish hairstyle is very ideal for college (and career) women today. I never have time to get my nails done so more times than not, I just wear them bare. The new quick nail polish trends are perfect for my schedule and budget!

The braids discussed in this post are so adorable and easy to manage. They are so easy to pull together in the morning and save you a huge amount of time. There is such a variety in braids, whether you go for the classic french braid or decide on the fish tail braid. I love starting a french braid and pulling the end up into a messy bun. It looks so effortless but very unique and cute at the same time! The unique nail trends are also an easy way to jazz up any outfit. I love the new gold nail polish! It looks so cute during the summer accented with tan skin, or even during the fall as an accent color! Either way, the new trends are making life a little easier while still keeping trendy!

I always just throw my hair in a pony when its time for class. This post shows different way to look more presentable with out much effort. Also, I love nail polish! I think I have every color created by OPI and I probably paint my nails at least two if not three times a week. I love darker nail polishes for the fall and winter seasons especially dark purples and greens.

Being in college and living on a budget is hard! I love finding things I can make instead of going out to buy them. A lot of ideas I find are on the internet and in fashion magazines. I love the braid idea, but since I recently cut my hair it's not long enough to style that way. When I'm in a hurry or don't feel like doing my hair I find myself throwing an accessory in it.

Being in college has made me learn to budget my money. Doing my nails and braid my hair just to change it up some. This summer I learned how to French braid and this hair style is what I have started to do more now. But these simple things can make you feel refreshed and good about yourself. Also, you can do your nails at any point in type during the day. The simple things are easy way to get out of spending so much money.

Braid are a very good and easy way to look cute without taking a lot of time. I see a lot of girls wearing braids everyday. I love painting my nails and painting two different colors on them. I also love getting my nails done. Both of these styles are very fashionable!

I love the braids beginning this post. As I was stumbling online earlier today I came across a blog on how to throw some color into your braids with yarn and it made me remember it. They braids looked awesome and pulls in fun colors like how nail polish on UK's campus is apparently. The nail polish trend is exciting though I love painting my nails wild colors so that when I look down I can smile at their brightness. This post just overall made me really excited to paint a bright color on my nails and braid my hair for classes tomorrow.

No matter what time i get up in the morning i feel like i still somehow end up rushing to get ready for class. So with new trends like the fish tail braid, french braiding your bangs or twisting your bangs back which is my favorite. I've found it easier to still be somewhat stylish when your in a hurry. Another trend i really like is the 4-to-1 nail polish. Another thing I like is painting all my nails but one in a neutral and then painting the one nail in a bright color.

As we delve deeper into the semester I find it harder and harder to get out of bed in the morning. I try to make my mornings as efficient as possible to stay in bed longer. I never have to desire to straighten or curl my hair, and forget about doing my makeup! One thing i always HAVE to have done is my nails. Every Sunday I take the time to show my nails some love and paint them a new color. I feel more put together with nails done and I love changing colors to go with the seasons. Right now im into dark reds and purples. I also have been using the braid a lot to save time in the morning. Throw a hat on top and im ready to take on the day!
